SOUTH DAYTON – Melody Hale, 66, died Sunday, June 02, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
She was born December 30, 1946 in Gowanda, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary V. (Hartley) Zeman.
Melody worked for NYS as a secretary, and then worked as a bartender for several years before she started managing the South Dayton American Legion Post 1593. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 43 years. An avid NASCAR and Buffalo Bills fan, she enjoyed country music and spending time with her friends.
She is survived by one son, Martin J. Sticek of South Dayton, NY, a grandson, Zachery J. Sticek of Cattaraugus, NY, a brother, Jerry W. (Peggy) Zeman of Buffalo, NY, a sister, Beverly Jo Pittock Warren, PA, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved friend and companion, Spike.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hale on Feb. 4, 2003.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at South Dayton American Legion, 4 Mill Street, South Dayton. Rev. Bruce Fish of Cherry Creek-Leon United Methodist Church will be officiating. Arrangements are by Hills Funeral Chapel, South Dayton, NY.
