Silver Creek knights top students

SILVER CREEK -Silver Creek Central School announce the High School Knights of the Month for February and March.

Marissa Restivo, grade 10, was nominated by Ed Gallivan, earth science teacher. According to Gallivan, “Marissa is the perfect candidate for KOTM because She does well academically and is thoughtful and helpful to her classmates.” Marissa is the daughter of Jennifer and Michael Restivo of Irving. Marissa participates in many varsity sports, Key Club and Student Council. She plans to attend college and medical school.

Irene Klemens, grade 11, is the daughter of Nancy Klemens of Silver Creek. Irene was nominated by her AP US history teacher, Caitlin Kane. Kane has described Irene as a student who never fails to put forth the maximum effort and is willing to redo assignments that were not quite perfect. Irene participates in many varsity sports and is a member of the National Honor Society and 4H. After graduation Irene plans to attend college and medical school.

Jake Mullen, grade 9, was also nominated by Kane, Jake’s ninth-grade global studies teacher. Jake was nominated for his dedication to his studies and his respectful nature to the students and faculty at SCCS. Jake is the son of Amy and Kern Mullen of Silver Creek. He participates in track, cross country and karate. Jake plans to attend college after graduation and major in criminal justice.

Mercedes Campbell, grade 10, was nominated by Diane Swank, Mercedes’s algebra 2 and trigonometry teacher. Swank nominated Mercedes because of her incredible work ethic. Mercedes transferred to Silver Creek recently and was enrolled in a different math class at her previous school. Without hesitation, Mercedes, has dedicated after school time to this class in order to prepare for the regents at the end of the year. Mercedes has been a wonderful addition to the Silver Creek student body. She resides with Patty and Gary Wicks of Silver Creek. Mercedes plans to attend college after graduation and enjoys drawing, writing and listening to music.
