Silver Creek to join Dunkirk summer school
Silver Creek School District will not be offering a summer school program at the district. Silver Creek students will be allowed to enroll at the Dunkirk City School District summer program.
Please note this is a credit recovery summer program only. Students will not be able to enroll in a course they have not previously taken and failed.
The program will run from July 8 to Aug. 12 Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Regents Exams will be held at Dunkirk on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14.
The cost of the program is $125 for one course or $225 for two courses (maximum enrollment is two courses).
To register, Silver Creek students can go to the Silver Creek Guidance Office on Monday, June 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, June 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. Payment is due at the time of registration. Checks may be made payable to SCCS.
SCCS will provide one bus run to Dunkirk, which will depart from the high school lobby at approximately 7:30 a.m. The bus will return to Silver Creek at approximately 11:45 a.m. Students who take only one class will be placed in a study hall for the other period. Students will need transportation to and from Silver Creek High School if they are not transported to Dunkirk by their parents.
