Patterson Library exhibits Reno paintings and pottery
WESTFIELD – Patterson Library’s Octagon Gallery will exhibit “Paintings and Pottery with Jim and Pat Reno” from June 14 to July 5. The opening reception will be in the Octagon Gallery on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Jim and Pat Reno of Reno Pottery live in Mayville. They are members of the Chautauqua Craft Alliance and are active supporters of the arts in the community. Having their studio at their home allows them to mix work with pleasure, taking breaks from working with clay to pursue other interests in painting on canvas, gardening, or working with computers. They both enjoy world travel, and take time in the off season to go traveling, including a recent trip to China to explore the pottery industry there.
Reno Pottery has been in business since 1974, manufacturing hand made porcelain dinnerware and one of a kind pieces featuring whimsical zoomorphic designs. They have exhibited at hundreds of art and craft festivals over the years, and their work has found its way into homes and collections throughout the world.
The Renos invite everyone to stop by their home studio to see their Alpine Dish Gardens at 6007 Centralia-Hartfield Road in Mayville from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Pottery can be purchased online at www.renopottery.com. Johnson Estate Winery has donated wine for the opening reception, which is free to the public. Contact Nancy N. Ensign, Octagon Gallery curator, for a 2014 exhibit at 326-2154 or email@example.com.
