Dianne Kae Lindquist

CHERRY CREEK – Dianne Kae Lindquist, 63 years old of Cherry Creek, NY died Saturday June 8, 2013 at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving, NY.

She was born August 28, 1949 in Dunkirk, NY the daughter of the late Donald and Helena (Estus) Lindquist.

Dianne graduated from Pine Valley Central School in 1967, where she worked as a library assistant. She earned an Associate Degree from Jamestown Community College and Erie Community College.

She worked for J.N. Adam Developmental Center D.D.S.O. as a Therapy Aide, Behavior Modification Technician, Senior Companion Liaison, Living Unit Manager, Leisure Activity Staff, Programming Manager, Community Residence Director and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, retiring in 1994 after 26 years of service. Dianne also worked as a Home Health Aide for Cattaraugus County for several years.

She was a member and officer of the South Dayton American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Hamlet United Methodist Church for many years where she sang in the choir. Dianne enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards with her nieces and nephews. Some of her hobbies included genealogy, wood refinishing, gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She received several ribbons at the Chautauqua County fair for her creations.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Shane) Scollins of Marathon, NY; two sisters, Claudia (Kevin) Peters of Glens Falls, NY, Linette (Howard) Baker of TX; six brothers, Kenneth (Tammy) Lindquist of Springville, NY, Donald (LuAnn) Lindquist of Stockton, NY, Jerry (Juanita) Lindquist of South Dayton, NY, Duanne (Ruth) Lindquist of Forestville, NY, Lonnie (Michelle) Lindquist of Cherry Creek, NY, and Brian (Leanne) Lindquist of Kennesaw, GA; her “Pa” Carl W. Cortright of Cherry Creek, NY; three stepsisters, Christine (Timothy) Hodge of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Darlene (Mark) MacDonald of GA and Tricia Pittsley of Oswego, NY; two stepbrothers William ( Cindy) Cortright of FL and John Cortright of Lake Havasu City, AZ and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her God-children Joseph (Aleesha), Robert, Nikole, and James Lindquist of Cherry Creek, NY and Donald (Gabriella) Lindquist III of Horizon City, TX with whom she had a special bond.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2-4 PM at Hills Funeral Chapel, Balcom Corners, South Dayton, NY.

A memorial service will follow visitation immediately at 4 PM at the funeral chapel. Pastor Jennifer Delahoy of Kennedy United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at Webster Road Cemetery Fredonia, NY.
