CVCS committee to investigate use of elementary school meets Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE – A committee is being established by Cassadaga Valley Central School Superinten-dent Scott Smith to discuss options for the future uses of the Cassadaga Elemen-tary facility and grounds.

The first meeting of this committee will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the middle/high school multi-purpose room

The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education made the final decision to close the school at their meeting of March 11.

At their meeting of April 15 the board authorized Smith to form a committee concerning use of the building and grounds.

This resolution established a committee whose charge is to explore alternatives uses for the site.

Participation on the committee was open to any interested group or individual.

The superintendent was to contact local government bodies, municipalities and other organizations to offer the opportunity to participate on the committee.

Smith had already contacted those who served on the committee which explored the closure of the school.

Any other interested residents were advised to contact the superintendent either for information or to volunteer for the committee.
