…..The College at Brockport, SUNY, has awarded scholarships to members of its incoming freshman class who have demonstrated academic excellence. These students include David Carlson of Cassadaga and Zachary Torain of Dunkirk, who were both awarded the Dean’s Scholarship. Brockport awards three different types of scholarships to its incoming freshmen. Freshmen must live on-campus in order to be considered for the awards. Brockport’s Dean’s Scholarship goes to freshmen who are in the top 25 percent of their class, have a 90 or higher average and scored either an 1,100 or higher on their SAT exam or 24 or higher on their ACT exam…..

Draegert received a bachelor of arts in biology from the College Liberal Arts and Sciences at Alfred University during commencement exercises May 18 at McLane Center on the AU campus. …..Jonathan A. Fountain of Dunkirk, a sophomore majoring in aeronautical engineering, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam. Dean’s List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours……….The following area residents were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa. Elizabeth Ouweleen, a sophomore English major, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction. She is a 2011 graduate of Nardin Academy and is the daughter of Dr. Jennifer and Dr. Kevin Ouweleen of Fredonia. Philip Ouweleen, a freshman mechanical engineering major, has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction. He is a 2012 graduate of Canisius High School and is the son of Dr. Jennifer and Dr. Kevin Ouweleen of Fredonia. Madelynn Caisley, a junior psychology major, has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction. She is a 2010 graduate of Westfield Central School and is the daughter of Dr. Ian and Terrie Caisley of Westfield. Jake Harp, a junior communication studies major, has been named to the Dean’s List. He is a 2010 graduate of Westfield Central School and is the son of Kevin and Jennifer Harp of Westfield. Bradley Jopek, a senior music education major, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction. He is a 2010 graduate of Westfield Central School and is the son of Roger and Nancy Jopek of Westfield. Students eligible for the Dean’s List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean’s List with Distinction a GPA of 3.6 to 3.84; and for the Dean’s List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.00…..
