Alberta M. Rozumalski

Alberta M. Rozumalski, formerly of Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk, N.Y. died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Chautauqua County Home with her family at her side.

She was 84 years of age, born in Dunkirk on October 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia (Madurski) Gnadzinski. A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Mrs. Rozumalski was a homemaker. An avid bingo supporter, she had a passion for music which she shared with her family and friends. Alberta was a proud mother and grandmother who could be found at many athletic events throughout the years cheering on her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church (Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish).

Surviving are her sons, Donald F. (Unhwa) Rozumalski of Wilmington, North Carolina, Thomas A. (Deborah) Rozumalski of Dunkirk, Charles H. (Jeanne) Rozumalski of Middleburg, N.Y. and William J. (Susan) Rozumalski of Wheatfield, N.Y. and her grandchildren, Heather (Joshua) Stewart, Katie (Jason) Cieslewicz, Christine (Andrew) Williams, Kelly Rozumalski, Lyann (Elijah) Houston, Thomas M. Rozumalski, Megan Rozumalski, Michael Rozumalski, Sally Rozumalski and Christine Meyers and her brothers, Harry (Ella) Gary of Orlando, Florida and B. Anthony (the late Marie) Gary of Sun City, Arizona. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald J. “Potsy” Rozumalski whom she married on November 4, 1950 and who died on May 15, 1998, four brothers, Edward Gnadzinski Sr., Louis Gary, Chester Gary and Alphonse Gary, and her sister, Genevieve Lucas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Newman Funeral Home, Inc. The Rev. Matt M. Nycz will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
