Eastern Great Lakes Fiber Conference Oct. 11-14 at Chautauqua

CHAUTAUQUA – The Eastern Great Lakes Fiber Conference is coming to the Chautauqua Institution again this fall. This event occurs once every two years and is a chance for people who enjoy the fiber arts to advance their skills or learn new ones that could become a lifelong passion.

This year EGLFC will continue its tradition of hosting nationally recognized instructors in weaving, spinning, knitting, felting and basketry. There will be classes for all skill levels and participants will leave the weekend conference with finished items.

Make cathead and gourd baskets with Liz Andraso, learn how to weave ergonomically with Laura Fry, spin for colorwork knitting with Kate Larson. If you want to learn to weave, check out the workshop with Jan Towsley and weave with variegated yarns with Betty Vera.

EGLFC is scheduled for Oct. 11-14. In addition to the 3-day workshops, there will be vendors selling a variety of fiber arts supplies, a banquet and fashion show, and exhibits.
