Dunkirk High School Pool announces summer swim programs
The Dunkirk High School Pool will offer several summer swim programs for children and adults. They are as follows.
“Learn to Swim” programs for children will include Flying Fish (diving) and Bubble Guppies (infant/parent) classes from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on weekday mornings. Session one will run from July 8 to July 19; session two will run from July 22 to Aug. 2. Red and Blue Guppies (beginners), Minnows (level 2), Fish (level 3) and Sharks and Dolphins (advanced) classes will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on weekday mornings. Session one will run from July 8 to July 19; session two will run July 22 to Aug. 2. There will be evening classes held for Red and Blue Guppies, Minnows and Fish from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. on weekdays, with session one running from July 8 to July 19 and session two from July 22 to Aug. 2.
Program costs for children’s classes for each session are as follows: Dunkirk residents will pay $35 for the first child, $30 for the second child and $25 each for any additional children. Non-Dunkirk residents will pay $40 for the first child, $35 for the second child and $30 each for any additional children. All registration fees are due in cash at the time of the registration. Registration will be June 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for Dunkirk residents and June 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for non-Dunkirk residents. Classes are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Adult swim programs are as follows. Aquasize, a low-impact aerobics class, will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. The dates for Aquasize are July 8 to Aug. 21. The cost for this class is $4 per class or $35 for the entire session.
Deep Water Aquasize will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. The dates for this are July 9 to Aug. 22. The cost is $4 per class or $35 for the entire session.
Lap Swim will also be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 7 p.m., July 9 to Aug. 22. The cost is $2 per night or $15 for the entire session.
Open Swim, during which the pool is available to the public for recreational use, will be Monday through Friday from July 8 to Aug. 18., with session one from 1 to 2:15 p.m. and session two from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. The cost for Open Swim is $1 per person per session. Swimmers must register before each session.
