YWCA Westfield Fitness Center

The YWCA Westfield Fitness Center will hold an open house Wednesday, June 26 from 4-6 p.m. This is an opportunity to see the newly installed cardio equipment and meet the sales rep from Advantage Sport and Fitness, the supplier of the new equipment.

In addition, there will be information available on the insurance plans the fitness center accepts, the newly expanded contracts that feature unlimited use and a chance to register for door prizes. No cost, no obligation, free and open to everyone.

Fredonia Girls Basketball Camp

Fredonia Central School will host a girls basketball camp Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost of the camp is $95 per camper. Those who send five or more students from the same school and send in their applications together can deduct $10. It is open to all girls entering grades 3-12.

Registration will also take place on the first day of the camp between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m.

Each player is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch. There will be cold pop, water and Gatorade for sale at lunch time and at the end of the day. All athletes should have their ride pick them up at 3:30 p.m. All parents are welcome to come to the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Fredonia Boys Basketball Camp

The Fredonia Central School boys basketball camp will be held Friday and continue Monday through Wednesday, July 1-3 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost for the camp is $90 at the door, or $75 if paid by June 27. The camp is open to boys entering grades 3 through 12. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt if they pre-pay.

Each athlete is expected to arrive between 9 and 9:30 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch.

Memorial Scramble

Green Meadows Golf Course is proud to announce the Mary Ellen Benamati Memorial Scramble will be held on Sunday, July 28. The proceeds for the event, which will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, will go to the Mary Ellen Benamati Memorial Scholarship Fund. The cost for the event will be $240 per foursome and will include golf, a cart, range balls, prizes, soft drinks, hot dogs, snacks and a buffet lunch. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams are all welcome.

The cutoff date for entry is July 18, with the scramble being capped at 120 golfers. Entry forms are available at Green Meadows Golf Course in North East, Pa., or at Pinehurst Golf Course in Westfield.

Bemus Point 3-on-3

Basketball Tournament

The Bemus Point 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held at Bemus Point Park on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10 and Aug. 11 with competition and prizes.

Boys and girls age brackets are fifth and sixth grades, seventh and eighth grades, ninth and 10th grades and 11th and 12th grades. There are also divisions for Men’s Open A and B, age 35 and over, top men’s and a women’s open division. The cost is $80 per team.

Teams can pick up registration forms at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring St.; The Post-Journal, 15 West Second St.; or The Jock Shop, 10 Harrison St., in Jamestown.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is celebrating its 35th anniversary. The Bemus Point 3-on-3 basketball tournament has been organized in honor of the anniversary and the foundation’s parallel promotion, “Caring and Giving – Make Good Things Happen.” All net proceeds benefit the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

Joy Golf Tournament

Moved to Gowanda CC

The Russell J. Joy Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit TLC Health Network has switched locations and will be played at Gowanda Country Club, 2623 Brown Street, Collins on Wednesday, August 28. Registration is set for 11 a.m. and tee-off is set for noon.
