Compeer Chautauqua will hold its 15th annual Compeer Fore Youth Golf Tournament on Friday, June 28, at the Chautauqua Golf Club. The four-person scramble event will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Compeer for Youth Program which offers trained, compassionate mentors to youth ages 5 to 17 who have been referred by mental health and school professionals.
Lunch and dinner are provided at the tournament with beverages and snacks at registration and on the course. There will be prizes for winners and separate prizes for women’s teams if four teams enter. Also included are men’s and women’s prizes for longest drive and closest to the hole.
Costs for the tournament is $80 per person and $65 for members of Chautauqua Golf Club.
The tournament committee is offering hole sponsorships which are $100 per hole to help support the tournament. Other sponsorships are available, including roaming beverage carts with sponsor identification at $350. Sponsorships feature appropriate signage and program recognition.
Compeer Chautauqua is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living, a residential and rehabilitation organization serving individuals with psychiatric disabilities in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and southern Erie counties.

The District 38 Little League baseball 11-12 year old all-star tournament will be held in Silver Creek at the Wade Avenue field, beginning today when Hanover Little League hosts Fredonia at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, Falconer will take on Bemus Point at 6 p.m. The losers of the first two games will square off on Saturday at 10 a.m. while the winners will meet at 1 p.m. The losers’ bracket final is set for Sunday at 4 p.m., with the first of two potential championship games being played on Tuesday, July 2. A second, if-necessary title tilt is scheduled to be played at 6 p.m. on July 3.
The District 38 9-10 year old baseball tournament is set for play in Bemus Point, with host Bemus Point taking on Falconer on Wednesday at 6 p.m. while Hanover and Fredonia will play on Thursday at 6 p.m.

In softball action, Fredonia will host a sectional tournament beginning on Sunday, June 30 at the Eagan Complex, located on Clinton Avenue.
Gowanda Softball Tourney set
for June 29
The 17th Annual Gowanda Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Tournament is set for June 29.
The double-elimination format will begin at 11 a.m., and there is still an opening for one more team. The entry fee is $75. Call Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in registering a team.
Joy Golf Tournament Moved to
The Russell J. Joy Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit TLC Health Network has switched locations and will be played at Gowanda Country Club, 2623 Brown Street, Collins on Wednesday, August 28. Registration is set for 11 a.m. and tee-off is set for noon.

The Seventh Annual Fundamental Football Camp has been scheduled for July 15-18 at the Chautauqua Lake Central School football facility.
The camp is open to all area football players entering grades 3 through 8 and will run from 8:30 am until noon, daily.
The camp will also feature technique training.
Camp tuition is $95 for the week and scholarships are available for anyone with financial need.
