Central collision in city

Two cars collided at the corner of West second and Central Avenue in the city of Dunkirk Saturday around 4:30 p.m.

One of the vehicles was headed east on West Second Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Central. The driver said she did not see another vehicle when she tried to make the turn. A vehicle headed straight on Second Street collided with the front passenger tire of the first vehicle. There were no injuries. Both cars suffered damage and the second car needed to be towed away from the scene.

Dunkirk police were on the scene to direct traffic around the accident which blocked Central Avenue. A report was not released Saturday night.

Dunkirk City Fire also assisted on the scene.
