Dorothy Cornwell, 95, died Saturday, 22 June 2013 at Haltom City Center Life Care.
She was born in Schenectady, NY in 1918 to Herbert and Marguerite (Cooper) King. Dorothy married John Cornwell in 1942 in Schenectady. She worked at Petri Bakery in Silver Creek, NY and at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center in Gowanda, NY. She was a loving and well-loved member of an extended family. Dorothy had resided in Forestville, Silver Creek, South Dayton and in Haltom City, Texas until she entered the nursing home.
Survivors include daughters Lillian (Gene) Montest, Silver Creek, NY; Susan (Auggie) Jones, Clovis, NM; Celia Dunkleman, Haltom City, TX; and son, Charles (Lizann) of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Tracy (Joe) Froidcoeur, Hendersonville, NC; Michelle (Keith) Michael-Korn, LeRoy, NY; Jennifer (Charles) Deckard, Blue Ridge, TX; Gus (Tina) Jones, Cary, NC; Margaret (Marvin) Conklin-Ramsey, Haltom City, TX; John Dunkleman, Buffalo, NY; Tanya (Steve) Biss, Scottsville, VA; Janelle Cornwell, Boston, MA; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are sisters Patricia DeForest of Schenectady NY, Shirley Dole, Cattaraugus NY, and brother Herbert J. King, Jr., Anchorage, AK as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, son John, and two sisters, Ruth Sayward and Nita Calhoun.
No services will be held at Dorothy’s request.
