Summer food program feeds kids for free

With summer beginning, it’s time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. Forestville Elementary School provides free lunches to all children during the summer who are 18 or younger. This is an open site, so children do not have to be students from the District.

This summer, meals will be served at the Forestville Elementary School Cafeteria, Monday thru Fridays beginning July 8 and ending on Aug. 9. The time lunches will be served will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A snack will be available also at 3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Karen Giardina at 965-6530.

Each year the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Forestville Central School to provide free meals and/or snacks to children when school is out for the summer.
