Henrietta Jelonek, 93, of Penfield, formerly of Dun-kirk, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
Ms. Jelonek was born in Dunkirk, September 8, 1919, daughter of the late Andrew and Victoria (Domst) Jelonek.
She retired after 35 years of service as a Registered Nurse and surgery supervisor at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
A lifelong member of St. Hyacinth’s R.C. Church, now known as Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth, she also belonged to the parish’s Rosary Society.
She is survived by her sister, Delphine Przybycien of Webster, NY, her brother Frederick (Gerry) Jelonek of Columbia, TN., and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Knapik; broth-ers Otto Jelonek and Benjamin Jelonek; and sister-in-law Jane Jelonek.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Saturday morning at 11:30, where services will be held at 12:30, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth at 1 PM.
Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
