Bernice Green-Warren, age 46, of Dunkirk passed away Tuesday evening (July 2, 2013) at ECMC in Buffalo.
She was born Dec. 18, 1966 in Dawson, Ga., the daughter of Ruby Green of Dunkirk and James L. (Sharon) Thomas Sr., also of Dunkirk.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Mrs. Warren was a 1985 graduate of Dunkirk High School and received her associate’s degree in business at Jamestown Business College.
She was a loving and caring mother of two children, Ashley C. Warren and Garrett I. Warren. She was married to her longtime husband and high school sweetheart, Bobby Lee Warren.
Bernice was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, who loved talking and visiting with her neighbors about the good news of God’s kingdom. She was zealous about the ministry regardless of her health condition. She loved serving her God, Jehovah.
Bernice leaves behind her mother-in-law, Mattie Jewel Tell and sisters-in-law Darlene, Bernice, Linda, Gwen (Stephan) Baker and Lorraine. Also her sisters Brenda Orange of Buffalo, Regina (Sylvester) Sutton of New Jersey and her brothers, James (Sonia) Thomas Jr. of Dunkirk, Lawrence (Lisa) Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio, Christopher, Daniel J. Thomas of Dunkirk and Clifton L. Thomas of New Jersey.
She also leaves her beloved aunt and uncle, Charlie and Jura Butts, and a number of cousins, nephews, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bobby L. Warren Sr.; and sister-in-law, Allisha Thomas, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
No visitation hours. Memorial services will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 970 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048. Kenny Porter will officiate.
