Bicentennial Pie Contest and Auction July 13

The Portland Bicentennial Celebration will feature a welcoming return to the good ole days with a Bicentennial Pie Contest and Auction. This grand American tradition will be alive and well during the festivities on July 13 at 1:30 p.m on the Main Stage.

Three ways to join the fun: submit two identical pies, one for judging and one for auction, donate a pie to auction, or stop by to bid on delicious, homemade pies. Pies entered for the contest will be judged on presentation, texture, consistency, creativity and overall taste. Contestants are competing for ribbons but more importantly, historical bragging rights. Pies must be homemade (including crust), in disposable tins and not requiring refrigeration. Contestants wishing to enter pies (two) or donating pies should bring them by the Main Stage table between 12:30 and 1 p.m. on July 13 at The Portland Bicentennial which will be hosting festivities behind the Brocton American Legion John Dill Post 434, 110 W. Main St.
