Joe Tilly had three hits at the plate and tossed a complete game on the mound to lead the Police past Kosciuszko Club. Michael Norton and Anthony Ruiz added two hits each while Michael Mackowiak knocked a triple.
Seventh Annual Fundamental Football Camp
The seventh annual Fundamental Football Camp is scheduled for July 15-18 at Chautauqua Lake Central School. The camp is open to all area football players entering grades 3 through 8 and runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon daily. It is a great camp for aspiring youth football players to prepare and to get a jump start on the upcoming season. Campers will receive position instruction, speed and agility training, and offensive/defensive team work. An emphasis will be placed on sportsmanship and teamwork. The camp staff is comprised of coaches with college-level playing and/or coaching experience and some of the top area coaches. Former players have been scheduled as guest speakers.
There is limited enrollment so please pre-register by sending an email to email@example.com or call camp coordinators Josh Liddell at 640-3580 and Ehrich Zollinger at 860-7080. Please include the camper’s name, school district, emergency contact number and grade level. Camp tuition for the week is $95 and there is financial support and scholarships available for those in need.
Westfield Fall Youth
There is still time for Westfield youth to register for Fall Youth Soccer. Application forms can be picked up at the Village of Westfield window in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. The fee is $20 for the first child, $15 for the second and $10 for the third (maximum of $45 per family), but scholarships are available. Games will begin in mid-August and end in mid-October. Tour of Chautauqua
The 30th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, originating and finishing in front of Eason Hall. The mass start begins at 9 a.m. Refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100-mile courses will be offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries postmarked by July 19 cost $18 and include a T-shirt. Entries postmarked after July 19 and the day of the ride are $20 and include a Tour of Chautauqua water bottle. Call 716-326-4243 for more information. Weather permitting each Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., anyone who enjoys playing tennis is welcome to come to the tennis courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School. The plan is to have enough people to organize several doubles matches. This opportunity could help create connections that can hopefully encourage playing tennis more than just on Monday nights.
High School Soccer
Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Soccer Officials, Inc. is looking for candidates to referee boys and girls high school soccer games in the Southern Tier this upcoming season. CCSOI’s first meeting is set for Monday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at the BOCES Educational Center in Fredonia.
JCC Basketball Camps
Jamestown Community College will hold a basketball camp for boys aged 8 to 15 from July 8 through July 11. Camp will begin at 8 a.m. and run until noon each day. The cost is $95.
Camp directors will include George Sisson and Brian Hodgson.
There will also be a girls’ basketball camp from July 15 through July 18, from 8 a.m. until noon each day. The cost is $95. Sisson will direct the girls’ camp.
Both camps will be held at the Physical Education Building at JCC.

Cassadaga Valley Midget Football will be holding registration for players and cheerleaders on July 9 from 6-8 p.m., at the Sinclairville Elementary Soccer Fields. Registration fee is $50 for one player and $75 for two; or $80 for families with three or more athletes.
Players and cheerleaders must turn 9 by Dec. 1, and cannot turn 14 prior to Aug. 1. Copies of birth certificates are needed at sign ups.
Buffalo 716ers Announce Summer League
The Buffalo 716ers have announced a new basketball league open to teams and players in Dunkirk. The league will play on Sunday nights beginning July 7 at Dunkirk High School.
The league includes live stats, live video, photos, college officials and more.

The league fee is $250 per team while players can register for $25.
The league will run through Sept. 1.
Springboard Diving Camp
Fredonia State will conduct a springboard diving camp July 8-12 at the Steele Hall Natatorium. All interested divers aged 6-18 will be accepted.
The camp will emphasize proper entries into the water, approaches, somersaults and twists. A trampoline with spotting belt and dryboard pit are among the apparatus used by the participants.
Divers can attend in half-day or full-day sessions.
