Woman in ATV accident flown to hospital
BEMUS POINT – A woman injured in a 4 x 4 all-terrain vehicle accident here this evening was flown to Hamet Hospital in Erie, Pa., for treatment.
The victim, identified only as Lori Lang, was sitting at a picnic table when it was struck by an ATV driven by Kristen R. Brown of Amherst. ATV owner Julieann Brown was a passenger on the back of the ATV on her Mahanna Road property.
The accident occurred when Kristen Brown attempted to slow the vehicle but accidentally hit the throttle, striking the picnic table where Lang was sitting. Both Browns were thrown from the ATV but were uninjured.
Both the ATV and the picnic table landed on Lang, who suffered head, chest and back injuries.
An investigation of the accident continues by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
