Car wash fundraiser

The Silver Creek Fire Department Ladies Aux-iliary will hold a car wash fundraiser Sunday at the fire hall.

Reiki Open House

The Angels of Hope Heal-ing and Learning Center in conjunction with Simply Skin Spa will host a Reiki Open House Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Simply Skin Spa, 10 Park Place in Fredonia.

Non-credit courses

at JCC North County Center in Dunkirk

Several non-credit courses begin soon at Jamestown Community College’s North County Center in Dunkirk.

Courses include: iPod, iPhone and iPad Training, 1 to 3 p.m., July 17 ($34); Barrier Precautions/Infec-tion Control, 1 to 4 p.m., July 17 ($30); and Traffic Survival: Point and Insurance Reduction, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., July 13, ($35).

Glasgow Road to be closed for maintenance

The town of Pomfret will be closing a portion of Glasgow Road today and Tuesday and possibly Wednesday, depending on the weather. The highway department will be working to replace a pipe culvert during this time. The portion of the closed road will be from Darby Switch Road to the Cassadaga Job Corps.

Dunkirk Town Board special meeting Tuesday

The town of Dunkirk will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the town hall to discuss the proposed resolution to support Chautauqua County as the lead applicant to submit a grant application for the purpose of establishing a northern county regional water district. A workshop with zoning board members will follow the meeting.
