Larry G. Perkins

FREDONIA – Larry G. Perkins, 65, an owner-operator of Shan-Lor Trucking, where he worked for 20 years, died Saturday, July 06, 2013 at Buffalo Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.

He was born April 27, 1948 in Warsaw, N.Y. the son of the late Mervyn W. and Josephine M. (Riffell) Perkins.

Larry graduated from Pine Valley Central School and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #0301 in Fredonia, Veterans Post 6390 in Sheridan, American Legion Post 0001 in Albany, and the Moose Lodge #89 in Dunkirk, NY. He served in the Army during Vietnam Era, enlisting on February 28, 1966 at Buffalo, N.Y. discharged on February 27, 1969 at Fort Riley, Kan.

Larry had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.

He is survived by his wife Carol A. Perkins of Fredonia, NY, two daughters: Shannon P. (Adam) Wickley of Atlanta, Ga. and Lori J. Bridges of Falconer, N.Y.; six grandsons: Mason Bridges, Nolan Bridges and Lucas Sopak all of Falconer, N.Y.; and Jackson Wickley, Grant Wickley and Lance Wickley all of Atlanta, Ga.; one granddaughter; Lauren Wickley of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers: Gary (Jeanette) Perkins of Jamestown, N.Y.; Glen (Linda) Perkins of Ellington, N.Y., Ray (Pat) Perkins of Phoenix, Ariz; and several nieces and nephews.

The public is invited to join the family for a Funeral Service on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, Rt. 83, South Dayton, N.Y. The Rev. Bruce Fish of Cherry Creek-Leon United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Villenova Cemetery in South Dayton.
