ATV accident victim flown to hospital
BEMUS POINT – A woman injured in a 4 x 4 all-terrain vehicle accident here Sunday evening was flown by Starflight to Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa., for treatment.
The victim, identified only as Lori Lang, was sitting at a picnic table when it was struck by an ATV driven by Kristen R. Brown of Amherst. ATV owner Julieann Brown was a passenger on the back of the ATV on her Mahanna Road property where the accident took place around 6;20 p.m..
The accident occurred when Kristen Brown attempted to slow the vehicle but accidentally hit the throttle, striking the picnic table where Lang was sitting.
Both Browns were thrown from the ATV but were uninjured.
Both the ATV and the picnic table landed on Lang, who suffered head, chest and back injuries.
An investigation of the accident continues by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
