A party was held in her honor at the American Legion Hall in Forestville on June 16, hosted by her children and their spouses, Starlene and Robert Luther and Gary and Eileen Pfleuger. The hall was decorated in turquoise, Bette’ s signature color, and a corsage was presented to Bette by her grandchildren, Amy Johnson and Christy Schauer. Guests enjoyed a meal and birthday cake.
All three of Bette’s sisters attended, Wanda Perkins and Doris Stenstrom from Lafayette, Tenn; and Janice Oakes from Cattaraugus.
Other guests were present from Angola, Fredonia, Forestville, Silver Creek, Gowanda, Perrysburg, Conewango Valley, Eden, South Dayton and Westfield. Bette’s nephew Dennis Perkins and his wife, Nannette, also attended from Dixon Springs, Tenn.
Bette is the proud grandmother of six and great-grandmother of 11.
