Trinity Episcopal Church Women

The Trinity Episcopal Church Women met recently to finalize the planning for its third annual Salad Bar Luncheon, which will be held Saturday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Garland Hall, located behind the church at 11 Day St. in Fredonia. It is open to the public, and everyone is welcome. This year the luncheon will be held in conjunction with Fredonia History Days and will offer a variety of more than 20 different salads.

Community members may purchase tickets for this event from a stand at the front of the church from 10:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. or they may proceed directly to the hall entrance at the back of the church between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $7 and include a plateful of salads, a roll with butter and lemonade or water. Second helpings can be obtained for an additional cost. Take-out lunches are also available for picnicking. The hall will be decorated with tablecloths and floral centerpieces made by TECW member Linda Ingham. The public is reminded that the hall is air-conditioned, and lunch there will be the perfect place to refresh themselves before going back to the festivities in Barker Common.

Additional items discussed were the hosting of the annual Tuesday Episcopal Cottage Tea on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution on July 16 at 3 p.m. Members will carpool to the event and offer a choice of homemade treats including finger sandwiches and desserts to all who attend. Anyone on the grounds that day is invited to join them.

The annual members’ picnic will be held on Monday, Aug. 5 at the home of Donna Reininga at 6 p.m.; each person attending is asked to bring a dish to pass.
