Sunset Auxiliary holds chicken barbecue fundraiser today

The Sunset Bay Fire Auxiliary is in summer fundraising mode. Every year, the auxiliary holds three major fundraising events. The Father’s Day Breakfast was held on June 17. This is an annual event and always well attended and supported. The next event is the third annual chicken barbecue. This event will be held today from 1 to 5 p.m. and is the biggest of the three major events. The cost is $8.50 and there is the option to eat-in or drive-thru. As soon as the barbecue is over, plans for the final breakfast will be finalized. This event is usually held the third Sunday of August.

The auxiliary is always looking for new members to help support the firefighters. To be eligible, potential members must be willing to work on all events. Sunset Bay Fire Auxiliary meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the fire hall at 7 p.m. The auxiliary is on call to assist the firefighters whenever needed.

The auxiliary appreciates the community’s support of its fundraisers.
