Woman, child, hurt after vehicle rear-ended

A Fredonia woman and a 4-year-old child were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital after the vehicle they were in was rear-ended in Fredonia Thursday afternoon.

According to an accident report by the Fredonia Police Department, Lauren Palmer, 27, was slowing to turn right into a driveway at 277 W. Main when her vehicle was rear-ended by Nicholas D’Angelo, 18, of East Main Street, Brocton.

D’Angelo told police he took his eyes off the road for a second and when he looked back up, it was too late to stop.

Police said D’Angelo was solely at fault in the accident.

Four other people were in Palmer’s car, including Carol Palmer, 58, Soleil Palmer, 1, Serenity Palmer, 5, and Fabion Palmer, the 4-year-old who was also injured. One other person was in D’Angelo’s car: Patrick Bigelow, 1.

Both Lauren and Fabion were taken to Brooks via Alstar Ambulance. Their condition is unknown.

The Fredonia Fire Department assisted at the scene.
