United Way sponsors dice run

At a recent meeting, members of the Board of United Way of Gowanda once again considered fundraising possibilities to increase the monies used to help local agencies such as food pantry, Tri-County pregnancy center, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, 50-Plus Seniors, Collins and Gowanda libraries, and others. Recently, two new members from the community have joined the group; and any other volunteer interested in helping the community would be welcomed. Jackie Wing accepted the position of treasurer to the group and Greg McClure joined as a member of the committee.

An exciting event will come to Gowanda by way of Gowanda Harley-Davidson and United Way of Cattaraugus County and of Gowanda. On Sept. 7, the groups will sponsor a Dice Run from Gowanda to Olean. The event will begin in the parking lot of Gowanda Harley Davidson and make its way to the War Veterans’ Park in Olean. When riders enter the park in Olean they will find the “Swine, Wine, and Craft Festival” on full display.

Registration cost is $10 – a contribution to the local charity organization United Way of Gowanda. Members of the United Way of Gowanda will handle registration in the parking lot. Interested riders and spectators can find more information at www.uwcattco.org.
