Charlotte teen charged with sexual misconduct
SINCLAIRVILLE – An 18-year-old male from the town of Charlotte is charged with sexual misconduct following an investigation.
It is alleged that the male, who was 17 at the time, had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a female juvenile in April. The male was released on appearance tickets for Charlotte Town Court.
Derby man charged with felony DWI
BRANT – On Thursday, troopers from the Collins barracks charged Joseph Franey, 38, of Gates Drive in Derby for felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation following an early morning traffic stop on State Route 5 for a reported equipment failure. Troopers reported they detected an odor of alcohol. Franey subsequently failed field sobriety tests.
He was transported to the Collins barracks and provided a breath sample reported at .12 percent. A computer check found that Franey had a DWI conviction within 10 years and his driver’s license was suspended for the conviction.
Franey is due in the Town of Brant Court later this month.

Francesca Maiden, 25, of Wellsville, was charged with confinement of a dog in a vehicle in extreme heat on Wednesday.
A 16-year-old youth from Dunkirk was charged with petit larceny on Wednesday.
Karen DeMarco, 31, of East Second Street in Dunkirk, was charged with harassment on Wednesday.
Cody Hinson, 24, of Greenhurst, was charged with harassment on Wednesday.
Daniel White, 33, of Lincoln Avenue in Dunkirk, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Wednesday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office
BEMUS POINT – John W. Rogers, 33, of Bemus Point was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment Thursday. At 3:36 a.m. deputies were called to an incident on Lakeside Drive in the village of Bemus Point.
It is alleged Rogers harassed a victim and damaged several belongings during an argument.
Rogers was arraigned in Ellery Town Court and was released on his own recognizance to appear in court.
