Forestville Class of 1978 reunion this weekend

The Forestville Class of 1978’s 35-year reunion will be held Friday and Saturday.

Friday night festivities will be held at Ron and Tina Duliba’s house on Straight Road in Forestville from 5:30 -? Saturday’s activities will be at Merritt Winery from 1 to 6 p.m. For directions or information, call 785-5211.

Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser at Angola Library Friday

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills announces that this year’s Angola Public Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the library, 34 N. Main St., Angola.

Sahlen’s hot dogs will be sold for $1 and Italian sausage for $2; both meals include a bottle of spring water. The event is held rain or shine.

The event will also feature a bicycle raffle, clown performance and bake sale. Bicycle raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for six. The drawing will be held during the Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser.

Legislator Mills has been hosting Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers in his district for seven years with nearly $40,000 raised. Proceeds from the fundraiser directly benefit the host library, helping to support its mission of supplying quality programming and materials to patrons.

Cassadaga Job Corps Academy to host

informational session Thursday morning

The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host an informational session and tour on it’s campus, located at 8115 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga, on Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Cassadaga Job Corps provides training to begin a career in the healthcare and construction industries as well as GED classes to those in need of a diploma. Training in Certified Nurse Aide, Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing and Electrical are available as well as the Advanced Training for Licensed Practical Nurse.

The Academy will accept young adults, age16-24, who are committed to a rigorous education and training program that are prepared to launch a career.

Applicants can apply for on-center living or off center living, and all applicants will enroll on a full federal scholarship if accepted.

Gretchen Gaede to appear on Senior Report Saturday

Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Gretchen Gaede as the guest on Saturday’s television program. Gade will discuss art in photography. She has a studio in the Chautauqua Institution.

The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for some communities.

Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995.

The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest.

Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19.

The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Schibetta memorial to be held Friday

The Schibetta family, in conjunction with the Fredonia Beaver Club, will host a memorial for Jim Schibetta at the club’s’ Banquet Hall, followed by a performance at the outdoor pavilion, on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m.

The free event will be in honor of the late Jim Schibetta, who passed away in February.

The Schibetta Brothers Band will perform with special guests.

Come and see them play one last time in honor of their older brother.
