Thelma C. MacCubbin, age 98, of Dunkirk died Sunday morning (July 21, 2013) in Absolut at Westfield.
She was born May 2, 1915, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late William and Edith McCullough.
A homemaker, Mrs. MacCubbin was a lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dunkirk. She had been active in her church, serving as a Sunday School teacher for 12 years.
An avid gardener, Mrs. MacCubbin’s flowers were the talk of the neighborhood.
Survivors include her son, David L. MacCubbin of Cape Coral, Fla.; one sister, Audrey Murphy of Meadville, Pa.; and several grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. MacCubbin; one son, James W. MacCubbin; and her sister and best friend, Beatrice Gasper of Fredonia, NY.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
