City man connected to rash of burglaries

A Dunkirk man has been taken into custody following an investigation into a rash of recent burglaries in the city of Dunkirk.

Carlos J. Rosado, 26, of Columbus Street was taken into custody Sunday after officers observed him entering a store on East Fourth Street just after 6 p.m.

He was taken into custody without incident and was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, two counts of petit larceny, attempted petit larceny and possession of burglar tools.

Dunkirk Police have concluded a two-month investigation into the recent burglaries and other thefts from area laundromats. These incidents occurred from mid-June through present with burglaries, larcenies and related property damage at Busy Bee Laundry on Lake Shore Drive East and L.A. Laundry on East Fifth Street. During the investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Rosado.

He was held without bail pending arraignment.
