Suspect sought in robbery of city gas station

The Dunkirk Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who robbed the Kwik Fill gas station on Central Avenue Sunday night.

At 10 p.m., police were dispatched to the gas station in reference to a robbery complaint. The caller told police a white male subject displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The subject then fled on foot westbound on Lucas Avenue.

The caller stated to police the subject was about 5-foot- 7 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a black ski mask, black jeans, a dark-colored zip-up hoodie and a black Chicago Bulls baseball-type hat and carried a black backpack.

Prior to the robbery, a white male subject with short, blonde hair fitting the subject’s description was seen approaching the gas sta-tion from Central Avenue.

Investigators are following up on leads and are asking anyone who may have seen anyone or any vehicles approaching or leaving the area at the time of the incident, or may have any additional information to contact the Dunkirk Police Department at 366-2266 or the confidential tip line at 363-0313.
