Harold R. Hendricks

CHERRY CHEEK – Harold R. Hendricks, 89, a metal worker for MRC-TRW, where he worked for 42 years, died Sunday, August 04, 2013 at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

He was born December 22, 1923 in North Chili, NY the son of the late Rev. Fred M. and Melva (Snyder) Hendricks.

Harold graduated from Jamestown High School, and attended Roberts Wesleyan College. He served in the Navy during World War II.

He was a life member of the following organizations: National Rifle Assoc., The Big Tree Rod and Gun Club, Celoron Rod and Gun Club, Falconer Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Cherry Creek-Leon United Methodist Church where he served on the administration board.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Young Hendricks, whom he married in 2008, of Cherry Creek, NY, one son; Bruce W. (Brenda) Hendricks of Cherry Creek, NY; his grandchildren, Gregory Hendricks of Bristol, CT, Mark A. (Elizabeth) Hendricks of Amherst, NY, Christina M.(Ryan) Sweda of Perrysburg, NY; 6 great grandchildren; his stepchildren, Wendy J. (Donald) Howig of Jamestown, NY, Wayne C. (Susan) Young of Jamestown, NY; 4 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Hendricks of Williamsburg, VA, Robert Hendricks of Phoenix, AZ, John Hendricks of Lake-land, FL, and two sisters, Mary Clement of Chili, NH, and Genevieve Andrews of Lakeland, FL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Rhoda A. Nordland Hendricks; a grandson, Todd A. Hendricks; his two brothers, Fred M. Hendricks II and Ernest Hendricks; and his sister Louise Glaser.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, NY. Rev. Bruce Fish of Cherry Creek – Leon Unit-ed Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Creek Central Cemetery in Village of Cherry Creek.

Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday from 1 PM till 2 PM.
