Jamestown woman charged
in Poland accident
POLAND – A Jamestown woman has been charged following an accident on Willard Street Ext.
Traci K. Faulkner, 41, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right on Tuesday. At 9:45 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the one-vehicle accident. Faulkner was allegedly traveling west on Willard Street Ext. when she lost control of her vehicle and went off the south side of the road. The vehicle then struck several fence posts, a piece of farm machinery and a cement garage wall.
Faulkner was uninjured and released on her own recognizance for Poland Town Court.
Man charged after leaving the scene of accident
NEW ALBION – A Little Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated following an accident on Sunday.
Steven J. Borkowski, 21, was charged with failure to maintain lane, DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. At 5:38 a.m. it is alleged Borkowski was traveling south on Route 353 when he left the west side of the road striking a culvert and a mailbox.
He then left the scene in his vehicle which was heavily damaged. He was located a short time later by deputies and taken into custody. He was released on his own recognizance to appear in New Albion Town Court at a later date.

KIANTONE – John R. Monda, 28, of Falconer was charged with failure to keep right and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent on Saturday. At 4:20 a.m. deputies investigated a single-car accident on Route 62. Investigation determined that Monda was north when it cross over the center line and struck a guiderail on the southbound side of Route 62. The vehicle then traveled back to the northbound lane before coming to rest. Monda and his passenger were not injured and Monda was released on an appearance ticket for Kiantone Town Court.
WESTFIELD – Ryan Beland, 20, of Route 5 was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Monday. It is alleged that Beland kicked the tail light out of a vehicle in the town of Chautauqua on July 1. He was issued an appearance ticket for Chautauqua Town Court.
FORESTVILLE – Sydney Sprague, 20, of Main Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Wednesday. Deputies responded to a residence on Main Street for a complaint of a strong odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, Sprague gave deputies permission to search the apartment where a small quantity of marijuana and numerous pipes were found. Sprague was released on appearance tickets for Hanover Town Court.
JAMESTOWN – Barton Napier, 30, of Jamestown was taken off the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office wanted list for a charge of felony driving while intoxicated. He appeared in court canceling his warrant Wednesday.
CASSADAGA – Shawn Cavender, 44, of Smith Road was charged with disorderly conduct on Wednesday. At 4:20 p.m. deputies were called to a Smith Road residence for the report of an unwanted person. Through investigation, it was found Cavender was allegedly being disorderly and throwing furniture. He was arraigned and was released to appear in Charlotte Town Court.
