Underage drinking arrests made
after police sweep
- In a proactive effort to address underage drinking, New York State Troopers at the Jamestown State Police Barracks conducted an ABC (alcoholic beverage control) compliance check Saturday. A total of 24 establishments were checked, with 20 found to be in compliance.
Violating the state liquor law by selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor at the Aero Mart on State Route 430 in Hartfield was Almedia Erhard, 24, of Sherman. Erhard was issued an appearance ticket for Chautauqua Town Court.
Also arrested was Randy Woodmansee, 23, of James-town for selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor at Noeplace Convenience Store on Second Street in James-town. Woodmansee was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket.
Arrested in the town of Randolph for selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor at the Arrow Mart was Kathy Anderson, 47, of Randolph. She was issued an appearance ticket.
Arrested at Anderson’s Tavern in Frewsburg for selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor was Winette Marino, 49, of Frewsburg. She was issued an appearance ticket.
Man jailed after fight
- PORTLAND – 28-year-old Fredrick Brown of Portland was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail early Sunday morning after he allegedly got into a physical altercation in Brocton.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Central Avenue in Brocton around 1:30 p.m.
After interviewing those involved, it was discovered that a physical altercation had in fact occurred and the alleged aggressor was identified as Brown.
Brown was subsequently charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond.
