Investigation leads to arrest of Dunkirk man
Village of Fredonia Police arrested Nelson X. Irizarry, 23, of Deer Street in Dunkirk on Friday.
Irizarry was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree after allegedly selling cocaine to agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force in the Town of Dunkirk on numerous occasions.
Irizarry was found to be in possession of a felony amount of cocaine on Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest following a lengthy investigation into cocaine sales in the Dunkirk area.
Irizarry has been remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail pending further court action.
Forestville man charged with hitting wife while camping
CONEWANGO – A 42-year-old Forestville man has been charged after allegedly punching his wife multiple times while camping in this town.
According of the Catta-raugus County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Brian J. Sheldon of 1720 Kuhrt Road was charged with third-degree assault, a domestic incident, after hitting his wife multiple times in the head and face at 10:45 p.m. Saturday.
He is due back in court at a later date.

SOUTH DAYTON – Clifton H. Lynch III, 30, of Route 83 was charged with second-degree harassment on Aug. 11.
He was charged following a domestic incident that he had with his ex-girlfriend the previous evening.
He was released on an appearance ticket for South Dayton Village Court.
Jamestown man charged in robbery, assault
JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man was being held in jail on robbery and assault charges following an alleged fight Monday night.
Jamestown police responded at 11:28 p.m. for a report of a fight in the area of 75 Prospect St. Upon arrival officers observed two men walking quickly away from the area of the fight.
According to a police report, the men were observed throwing property to the ground. The suspects were identified as Jackson K. Knappenberger, 19, and a 15-year-old male.
A male victim was later found on Prospect Street with facial injuries, police said. Following an investigation, police alleged the two men pushed the victim to the ground and struck him before taking his gym shoes and items from his pockets.
Jackson was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail on Monday where he was held pending arraignment in court. He was charged with felony second-degree robbery, felony second-degree assault, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child.
The 15-year-old was being investigated further.
