NCCS class fundraising kickoff begins

The Northern Chautauqua Catholic School’s eighth-grade class will host their first fundraiser of the year at Holy Trinity Parish on Central Avenue in Dunkirk on Sept. 28 from 3-7 p.m.

The community is invited to enjoy a spaghetti dinner, 50/50, theme baskets and a chance to win up to $2,000 by purchasing a “Pony Plot.”

Tickets for the dinner are $7 and will be available at the door or presale from an eighth-grade student.

The “Deeds” for the Pony Plots are $20 each. There are only 400 available and sales are going fast.

All proceeds from the night will benefit NCCS’s educational trip to Gettysburg, Pa.

Students from NCCS have the opportunity to learn through the fundraising process.

Fundraisers show children the significance of presentation, setting and reaching a goal and accepting responsibility for completion.

In addition, the end of the year educational trip is one of the last times the students are together.

NCCS is a regional school and has students from many area municipalities such as Dunkirk, Fredonia, Forestville, Silver Creek and Gerry.

After eighth-grade graduation, students separate to different high schools but carry the memories of NCCS with them forever.
