Man charged after pulling knife on victim
- PORTLAND – A Brocton man was charged after pulling a knife on a victim during an altercation that took place on Thursday.
Christopher A. Tanner, 22, of West Main Street was charged with third-degree assault, according to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies. Tanner was involved in an argument where he allegedly pulled out a knife and swung it at a victim on Webster Road where the victim sustained a cut on their hand. The fight was broken up by a third party and Tanner fled the scene. He was later located and issued an appearance ticket for third-degree assault for Portland Town Court.
Man charged with DWI following accident
- CHAUTAUQUA – A Dewittville man was charged following a two-car accident Tuesday afternoon.
According to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies, Gerry D. King, 61, was traveling west on Hartfield Centralia Road at 1:12 p.m. when he crossed the center line colliding head on with a vehicle driven by Dorothy Desaulniers, 48, of Lily Dale. Further investigation found King to be intoxicated.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Westfield Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
King was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. He will appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
