Church to show ‘Brave’ tonight

Tonight, Christ Community Church, located at 219 Berry Road, Fredonia, will screen Disney’s “Brave” for free. Pizza will be served at 6:30 p.m. free of charge. The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. It is open to adults and children of all ages.

The movie is being shown to kick off Vacation Bible School, which begins next week. This year’s theme is Kingdom Rock.

“Brave” is for children of all ages as well as adults. Parents who would like to have their children attend VBS’s Kingdom Rock may register them tonight. Kingdom Rock is for children ages 2 to leaving fifth grade.

Children who would like to attend Kingdom Rock but are unable to attend tonight can pre-register their children at www.cccfredonia.org and follow the link. Registration is also available Monday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.

VBS will run 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday. On Friday night at 6:30 will be the closing program, which is for the children as well as their families. Ice cream will be served.

Farmers’ Market to feature Little Kitchen Herb Garden workshop

Jackie Swift will host a Little Kitchen Herb Garden workshop at the Fredonia Farmers’ Market Saturday at 11 a.m.

Swift will show adults and children how to create, use and care for a culinary herb garden. She will also share some of her gardening experience using organic practices, which she has promoted with her farm, Rainbow’s End, since the 1970s.

The cost for this workshop is $12 and participants will take home their own little kitchen herb garden. Advance registration is encouraged as space will be limited. Chautauqua County Land Bank to hold General Meeting Monday afternoon

The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development will hold a special meeting of the Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation on Monday at 3 p.m. in the CCIDA Board Room at 200 Harrison St. in Jamestown.

This meeting of the CCLBC is being conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition of a property being donated to CCLBC and other official business as required (agenda will be provided at the meeting).
