Gebbie Foundation appoints Edwards CEO
JAMESTOWN – John Marino’s retirement as Chief Executive Officer of the Gebbie Foundation has become a reality as it was announced on Thursday that Gregory J. Edwards will take his place in November.
President of the Gebbie Foundation board Kristy Zabrodsky said of the change, “Greg brings a diverse set of experiences to the Gebbie Foundation.”
Prior to his election as County Executive, a position he has held since 2006, Edwards had been engaged as a partner in two local law firms. He is also a member of many professional organizations and boards. Last year, Governor Cuomo appointed him to the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council.
Zabrodsky continued, “His knowledge of both the public and private sectors will help us further our strategic focus and will enhance our collaborations with the community and regional partners.”
Edwards is a member of the Southern Tier West Regional Planning Board and currently sits as a member (and past president) of the New York State County Executive’s Association.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Allegheny College and his Juris Doctor of Law from the University of Toledo.
Edwards said, “I’m excited to join the team of professionals at the Gebbie Foundation and I look forward to continuing to serve the community in this new role.”
The Gebbie Foundation hopes to advance its strategic mission to rejuvenate downtown Jamestown through investments in community and economic development initiatives with the help of Edwards.
Zabrodsky said, “We are extremely excited to welcome Greg to the Foundation team.”
