Judge Richard J. Saletta seeking re-election

Judge Richard J. Saletta has announced he will run for re-election in the town of Hanover.

Judge Saletta has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties. He is also the village judge in the village of Silver Creek.

Saletta graduated from Silver Creek Central School and has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Jamestown Community College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in law and justice from SUNY Fredonia and a master’s degree in education from Buffalo State College. He maintained a 4.0 grade point average while obtaining his master’s degree. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.

Saletta is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged after serving for four years during the Vietnam War. He resides with his wife, Anita, in Silver Creek. He has two children; Michael lives in Ohio and Jennifer lives with her children Mandee and Cody in Georgia. Cody will be entering the U.S. Marine Corps in the first week of September.

Saletta is a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and of the Silver Creek VFW. In 1996, he was named to the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” list.

He served as a member of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department and retired as a sergeant after 20 years on the job. Prior to that, he was a patrolman with the Village of Silver Creek Police Department.

Saletta would like to thank his friends who have supported him during his last four years as the judge in the town of Hanover and during his last two years as the judge in Silver Creek. He feels that he brings experience and fairness to the bench and would like to continue to do so as the judge in the town of Hanover.
