Kenneth E. Ecker
SOUTH DAYTON – Kenneth E. Ecker, 81, a retired groundskeeper for Leisure Lake Village, Palmetto, FL, where he worked for 12 years, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home on Leisure Way in Palmetto, FL.
He was born July 18, 1932 in town of Villenova, NY, the son of the late Merle and Florence (Straight) Ecker.
Kenneth owned and operated Ecker’s Equipment on Buttermilk Road in South Dayton from 1964 until 1984. He was a member of the South Dayton American Legion, Post 1593, and served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Marlene (Ruttenbur) Ecker of Palmetto, FL, Kirt E. (Yvonne) Ecker (son) and Kim E. Ecker (daughter) both of Palmetto, FL, his grandchildren; Andrew C. Ecker of South Dayton, NY, Keeley R. Ecker and Kelsey J. Ecker of Palmento, FL, a brother, Allen R. Ecker of Forestville, NY, and two sisters, Susan Ecker Newton of Forestville, NY, and Nancy LeVere of Frewsburg, NY.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
