Country royalty tribute performance Thursday

MAYVILLE – The Thursday performance of the Entertainment in the Park Summer Concert Series will feature Pat Cook and Skip Roberts presenting Country Royalty – Songs of Hank and Patsy. The concert will be held at Lakeside Park in Mayville on the shores of Chautauqua Lake from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

With short but very successful careers, Hank Williams Sr. and Patsy Cline contributed their talents as singers and songwriters to the most popular form of music in history. With hits like “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Hey Goodlookin'” and “Crazy,” these two superstars helped transform country music into the music of the people. A resident of Mayville, Cook has a long and diverse musical background and is involved in other Emerald City Productions’ shows. Her command of the “Patsy Persona” has defined her as one of the best Patsys around. Roberts’ reputation in the area is well-known. He has produced dozens of theme-styled shows for Emerald City Productions, as well as being an award-winning entertainer.

Rainbow the Clown (Jerry Stimson) will also be on hand to entertain the children with creative balloon sculptures and face painting. Rainbow is very popular with the children and they’re sure to have a great time as well.

In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Carlson Community Center also located at Lakeside Park. Remember to bring your own seating for the outside performances. This concert series is provided free to the public through the generous funding and sponsorship by the village of Mayville and town of Chautauqua.
