Lake Shore falls in title game of Durrick Memorial Tournament

TONAWANDA – Andrew McDonagh scored Lake Shore’s lone goal Saturday as the Eagles lost to West Seneca West, 3-1, in the title game of the Danny Durrick Memorial Tournament.

On Saturday, the Eagles opened their season with a 5-1 victory over Springville.

AJ Bergum opened the scoring with a well-placed long-range shot off an assist by Brian Mitchell. Chris Beckley scored twice and set up another goal for Lake Shore while captain Wade Bergum and Kenny Pierce each added an assist. Pierce also added a goal of his own, and Shaun Duffey closed out the scoring.

Lake Shore hosts Holland on Wednesday in a non-league match.
