Flash flood warning issued for part of Chautauqua County

At about 4:50 p.m. today, the National Weather Service in Buffalo issued a flash flood warning for most of western and central Chautauqua County, including the village of Fredonia.

The warning is set to expire at 8 p.m. tonight.

According to the warning, “excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, county roads, as well as farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.”
