Responsible Dog Ownership Day will be held at Lakeshore Humane Society center
Perfect Pooch Dog Training and Lakeshore Humane Society announce the 2013 American Kennel Club Responsible Dog Ownership Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 5 p.m..
The goal of this initiative, supported by the American Kennel club, is to educate first-time dog owners about the responsibilities of dog ownership and to help current owners enhance their relationship with their pets.
The event will be held at 431 East Chestnut Street in Dunkirk and features an open house, pet adoption day, raffles, door prizes, do-it-yourself agility, meet- ing the animals, a coloring contest, games for children and dogs, a photo booth, a make-your-own paw print, educational materials, snacks for all, demonstrations from area trainers and much more.
The event is free for the whole family, including friendly dogs.
Small donations will be accepted for activities that go to the Lakeshore Humane Society.

The AKC RDOD runs throughout the month of September, with hundreds of organizations around the country holding free events filled with fun and engaging activities every dog and owner can enjoy.
This is the 3rd annual AKC RDOD event Perfect Pooch Dog Training is hosting on behalf of area non-profit animal groups.
This event is also held in conjunction with the Lakeshore Humane Society’s Adoption Center Anniversary.
