SUNY Fredonia’s Enactus team recruiting
SUNY Fredonia’s Enactus team, formerly known as SIFE, is expanding its recruitment to broader majors.
Enactus is reaching out to new students interested in joining this non-profit organization that brings together students, academic and business leaders to achieve entrepreneurial actions dedicated to make the world a more sustainable place.
This year there are four main divisional teams to choose from when applying. The teams will be broken down into Art Shack, LIFE, International and Green. Each team is different and unique in its own way. The Art Shack team will focus on entrepreneurial tools used to help student and local artisans to create self-sustaining businesses, along with creating a collaborative retail outlet for student and local artist work. The LIFE team project will emphasis anti-bullying programs, students against destructive decisions, and much more relating to the lives of others. International projects will concentrate on partnering with communities and businesses outside the country to build entrepreneurial skills and improve the quality of life. Lastly, the green team will assemble a way to generate sales of Enactus developed projects and continue to work at creating a green and sustainable environment.
Students involved in Enactus have the opportunity to apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. This organization opens a lot of doors for graduating students. In fact, past students have been offered jobs from Hershey, ADP, Schwans and other large companies nationwide due to the experience they gained.
A variety of majors are encouraged to apply. This is not limited to only business students. In fact, the group is specifically looking for majors in art, education, psychology and science to round out its talent base. A sophomore or junior standing is preferred.
Applications can be found outside of advisor Dr. Sue McNamara’s office in Thompson Hall W315. The deadline is Sunday. Any accepted students will be joining the team retreat on Tuesday.
