Meet, greet event set for today
This afternoon, the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Team at Dunkirk High School will host their second annual “Meet, Greet and Eat” event. Students, parents and community members are invited to come visit the high school.
There will be building tours, information booths featuring student extracurricular and club activities, community resources, games and food. Come spend some time getting to know your community and school while enjoying a light snack. The event, slated to begin at 1:45 p.m., is free and open to the community.
Community agencies attending include: the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County, Dun-kirk Police Department, SUNY Fredonia, Upward Bound, WIC, Jamestown Community College, Com-munity Care, COI (TILP/-SAFE HOUSE), Chautau-qua Works, Dunkirk Free Library, Probation, Chau-tauqua County Educational Coalition and ZUMBA.

Kokomo guitar player seeks support for ‘Next Top Product’
James Steffan has been selected as a semi-finalist (top 50 out of 1,000) in the US Foods “Next Top Product” competition. In order to make the finals, he needs to win with online votes. He is seeking the support of local community members.
People can vote by going to www.usfoods.com/ntp. Steffan is in the Northeast region and his recipe is “Arancini.” Voters need a Facebook or Twitter account to vote, and can vote once a day every day from now until Sept. 20. Steffan would like to thank everyone in advance for the local support.
Fun With Science online course for children
Fun With Science, a non-credit online course for children, will be offered Sept. 16 through Oct. 11 by Jamestown Community College.
The course is designed for public, private, and homeschool children. Taught by Amber Johnson-Mathews, the course features interactive science experiments. Tuition is $39.

County Planning Board to meet Tuesday
The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Village of Bemus Point’s Village Hall, at 13 Alburtus Ave. in Bemus Point.
