Stockton attorney running for town justice
STOCKTON – Jeffrey A. Shevlin Jr., Esq. is announcing his candidacy for the Town of Stockton Justice position.
Shevlin is the Democratic candidate for the Town of Stockton and is also in Sept. 10 Primaries for Republican, Independence and Conservative party lines.
Shevlin resides at 4499 East Railroad Ave., Stockton, with his parents and siblings. He is an avid athlete playing several sports and can be seen running through Stockton often. When he is not working he spends his time reading and singing with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Buffalo Choral Arts Society. As a Boy Scout he has obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Shevlin graduated from the State University of Buffalo in 2008 majoring in Political Science, American Studies, History and Legal Studies and graduated from Washington and Lee School of Law in 2011 and then passed the New York State Bar exam. As a local attorney he practices Criminal Law, Traffic Infractions and Family Law throughout Chautauqua and Erie counties.
“If elected Town Justice, 99 percent of the cases I would handle would be the same type of cases I handle every day in my private practice. I appear frequently in local courts throughout Chautauqua and Erie County. Located in close proximity to the Stockton Court, I will be available for arraignments day or night. As the only attorney running in the election I would be able to smoothly transition the court as the new judge. This is important as the court loses 30 years of valuable experience with the retirement of Judge Otis Barber and Patricia Barber, the Court Clerk. I would be honored for the opportunity to serve the community as Town Justice and hope that the voters come out September 10 for the Primaries and November 5 for the election,” Shevlin concluded .
